AUTOMOTIVE INTERNET TRAINING

MEA now offers technical auto training over the internet. This is in addition to our normal night time class calender.

How this will work in is that you will LISTEN to the class on your COMPUTER SPEAKERS OR you can

CALL IN and listen over your TELEPHONE, CELLPHONE or SPEAKERPHONE. You will SEE the

class on your COMPUTER from home or work. These classes will be 30 minutes in length. Some courses will air

at Lunchtime (from Noon to 12:30), and the other courses will air in the evening 8:00 PM - 8:30 PM.

The class will be live, and you will be able to type in questions during the presentation.

This is our first step to automotive internet training, support it and it will grow!

THIS MONTH THERE ARE 5 NEW WEB BASED INTERNET TRAINING WEBINAR TOPICS!

Internet CLASS 1 Mode 6 FORD Misfire using your Snap On or OTC Scanner

Evening Course Wednesday February 3rd, 2010 from 8:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Finding a misfire on a Ford can be a tough task. Often there is no code to identify the misfire, even though you can feel the engine missing. There are also no "misfire counters" that you can watch on your most popular scanners. This course will show you how to use "mode 6" in your scan tool to easily find the misfiring cylinder. If you are not using Mode 6 on Fords to find a misfire, you are working too hard!. Find out how to do this with both an OTC scanner (or MAC Mentor, Matco Determinator) and Snap On Scanner (or Modis, or Solus) in this effective webinar.

Internet CLASS 2 GM LAN Low Speed CAN Systems Class

Lunchtime Course Thursday February 11th, 2010 from 12:00 NOON - 12:30

Like all manufacturers GM (since 2003) has been converting all of their cars and trucks to CAN communication between the various computers on the car today. This webinar will cover GMs approach to CAN, including their unique system known as GM LAN. Whether it is a U1000 series code diagnosis, a “no communication” message from your scan tool, or a NO instrument cluster operation complaint from the customer, this course will prepare you to diagnose the GM LAN and CAN systems the MEA way, in under 2 minutes!

Internet CLASS 3 Mercedes Benz Service Light Reset Procedures

Lunchtime Course Monday February 15th, 2010 from 12:00 NOON - 12:30

When servicing Mercedes Benz vehicles replacing the parts is not the only part of the job. These vehicles have Flexible Service Systems (FSS) to properly warn the driver of future service. They may want these "annoying" messages cleared from the instrument cluster. You no longer have to send them through the dealer. We will cover a few generations of the later generation Mercedes Benz vehicles for their service procedures, what they mean and how to reset them.

Internet CLASS 4 Honda P0401 EGR Low Flow Diagnosis

Evening Course Thursday February 18th, 2010 from 8:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Honda P0401 is the code for Insufficent EGR flow. This code can be one of the most difficult to diagnose because often the code is set, but the EGR "appears" to be working perfectly. This can be even more confusing when dealing with an electronic EGR valve. This course will cover operation and testing of the GM linear EGR system, including an exclusive MEA test for clogged EGR ports.

Internet CLASS 5 GM Power Mode Master Charging Systems

Evening Course Thursday February 25th, 2010 from 8:00 PM - 8:30 PM

GM's newest charging systems are controlled by computers. We will cover the use of the Power Mode Master and its role in maintaining SOC. We'll see how modules like the PCM, BCM, and others work together to monitor battery current flow, and the different modes of operation to optimize the systems performance. We will cover the Regulated Voltage Control as well as Stand Alone Voltage Control and Load Management. Covered will be operation, and testing of these latest systems.
