AUTOMOTIVE INTERNET TRAINING

MEA now offers technical auto training over the internet. This is in addition to our normal night time class calender.

How this will work in is that you will LISTEN to the class on your COMPUTER SPEAKERS OR you can

CALL IN and listen over your TELEPHONE, CELLPHONE or SPEAKERPHONE. You will SEE the

class on your COMPUTER from home or work. These classes will be 30-60 minutes in length. Some courses will air

at Lunchtime (from Noon to 12:30), some are in the Morning from 8:00-8:30 AM

and the other courses will air in the evening 8:00 PM - 8:30 PM, or 8:00 - 9:00 PM.

The class will be live, and you will be able to type in questions during the presentation.

This is our first step to automotive internet training, support it and it will grow!

Internet CLASS 1 Reading Wiring Diagrams: Wire by Wire GM Cooling Fans!

"LUNCHTIME WEBINAR" Wednesday May 9th, 2012 from 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM

Reading and understanding wiring diagrams is essential for repairing vehicles quickly and accurately. Looking at a cooling fan wiring diagram for a GM vehicle can be confusing. There are multiple relays and fuses going to multispeed cooling fans. This class will cover all of the common symbols in the diagram and how to follow the wires correctly. We will use some common faults to aid us in the learning process. By attending this class you will leave with a thorough understanding of these challenging diagrams. This is a must attend class and will aid you in preparation of the ASE A-6 test. Even if ASE testing is not in your future or you have already acquired this certification, as with all MEA classes you will gain a better insight into the subject.

Internet CLASS 2 Diesel Particulate Filters!!

Diesel particulate filters (DPF) have been installed on most new diesel vehicles. These filters are new to many people and have a process called regeneration done to keep them operating efficiently. In this webinar we are going to cover multiple types of DPF filters as well as different types of regeneration. Also covered will be maintenance changes to prolong the life of this system including low sulphur fuel and new oil ratings.

Internet CLASS 3 VW and Audi Measuring Block Diagnosis!

"EVENING WEBINAR" Tuesday May 22nd, 2012 from 8:00 PM - 8:30 PM

The intent of this webinar is to learn how to find and interpret the factory data stream (called measuring blocks on VW) using the Volkswagen software that is in your Snap-On scanner. The Snap On software has the ability to display data, just like a factory scan tool. The data is displayed the same as in the VW factory tool, but sometime the VW format leads to confusion. The ability to interpret the VW measuring blocks is critical in diagnosis, as the Generic OBD II data stream is not sufficient in most cases. Accessing the factory level measuring blocks will shorten your diagnostics times considerably. Some examples to be covered are Misfire Counter, Turbo Boost performance, Factory Fuel Trims (called Additive and Multiplicative) and more.

Internet CLASS 4 AC Temp VS. Pressure Testing Training Course!

With system capacities reaching and all time low, sometimes pressure gauges alone are not enough to accurately determine if an AC system is working correctly. A system that is undercharged by as little as 10% on a 1lb. system can cause compressor failure, as well as poor system performance. This course will look at the good bad and ugly of temperature vs. pressure testing and explain how you may want to add temp testing to help you diagnose any AC problem.
