One of the benefits of being an MEA member shop is having access to scan tools that are hard to come by or are just too expensive to afford to own. Aftermarket scanners are powerful, but everyone knows that to really have full access to on-board diagnostics nothing beats a manufacturer specific scan tool. If you're like most shops, you have found it difficult to keep up with an industry that changes very fast. No doubt you have also found yourself in the embarrassing position of not being able to work on a customer's car because of needing to access an on-board system that can only be accessed with a factory scan tool. Probably worse than that is not being able to complete a repair without the factory scanner.
